Distribution

Distribution refers to the delivery of new oil as well as picking up WVO.  Some vendors do both using the same truck, some use separate trucks, and some use separate services.  The key difference with bulk distribution is that it uses pumps and hoses to move oil.

Bulk oil is causing the traditional distributors to rethink their models.  For New oil, companies like Sysco and US Foods have been distributing oil in 35 pound containers.  For WVO, companies like Sanimax have picked up the oil in grease dumpsters.  It is expected that both these groups will make the change to bulk oil in some way or another.  Whether they provide all the pieces, or partner with others, is yet to be seen.
